Photography Brand Identity for Thrillist.com
Skills: Creative Direction, Photography, Photo Editing, Freelancer Management
As the lead photographer for Thrillist.com for eight years, I developed and refined the brand's photographic identity to align with its core message: taking fun seriously. Thrillist’s mission to help readers discover the best local spots and live life to the fullest inspired a vibrant and dynamic visual style. I translated this ethos into a cohesive photographic identity characterized by strong, surreal, and warm color palettes, energetic lighting, and lived-in sets. Food photography prominently featured hands and people, creating a sense of connection and bold personality in every shot. Beyond my own work, I ensured consistency across the site by evolving the visual style and collaborating with freelance photographers to uphold the brand's identity. This project was a continual exercise in creativity, adaptability, and storytelling through imagery.
