Photography Brand Identity for Thrillist.com
Skills: Creative Direction, Photography, Photo Editing, Freelancer Management
As senior photographer for Thrillist.com for eight years, I helped shape and evolve the brand’s photographic identity around its core ethos: taking fun seriously. Inspired by Thrillist’s mission to help readers discover the best local spots and live fully, I developed a bold, vibrant visual style defined by rich, surreal colors, dynamic lighting, and approachable, lived-in settings.
My food photography focused on tactile, people-forward moments—moving beyond sterile glamour to capture the joy and messiness of real meals. Travel images evoked wanderlust, inviting viewers to explore, while celebrity portraits captured candid, down-to-earth moments reflecting personal stories rather than resumes.
These distinct verticals combined to create an aspirational yet attainable visual world full of joy and spontaneity. Beyond my own shoots, I collaborated closely with freelancers to maintain and evolve this cohesive style, exercising creative leadership and storytelling through imagery.
